Dear Friend:

The Henry County tomato Festival Committee would like to extend an invitation to you, your organization, or group to appear in our 52nd Annual Tomato Festival Parade in Napoleon, Ohio.

This year's parade will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2011 starting at 6:00 pm.

The theme for this year is " Youth of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow at the Henry County Fair!".

Please return the enclosed entry form as soon as possible, but no later than JULY 31, 2011 to be included. Upon receipt of all of the entry forms, you will be sent more detailed information concerning your line-up number and the route to take to your staging area.

We sincerely hope you will participate in this year's parade. All participants are invited to stay and enjoy the 158th Annual "Henry County Fair". The fair runs Friday, August 12 through Thursday, August 18, 2011.

Our FLOAT JUDGING CONTEST is open to all youth groups, organizations, clubs, schools, businesses, churches, etc. Now is the time to start planning to WIN our $200 top prize!!!

1. Pick appropriate category: YOUTH - ORGANIZATIONAL - COMMERCIAL - RELIGIOUS
2. Enter to be "JUDGED"
3. Be one of the top 3 "Ribbon Winners" in each category above, based on these 4 aspects:

A. Difficulty of Work
B. Originality
C. Overall Appearance
D. Use of Theme

The prizes are:
FIRST PRIZE: $150.00
SECOND PRIZE: $100.00
THIRD PRIZE: $75.00
GRAND PRIZE 1 BEST OVERALL FLOAT: $50.00 EXTRA
NOT IN TOP THREE: $25.00

ADDITIONAL ENTRY INFORMATION:

  • A $25 fee is required for all Commercial and Pilitical type entries.
  • a $10 late fee is required for any entry submitted and accepted after the July 31st deadline.
  • Mail or drop off your check, money order or cash payment to:

  • REMINDER: Commercial and Emergency Services entries are limited to one full size unit and one antique or miniature unit.
  • NO SEMI'S or TRACTOR TRAILER rigs will be permitted.
  • Floats must be ready for judging by 4:45 pm - Instructions will follow after all entries are in.
  • Non-judged unit line-up can start at 12:00 Noon - Staging area instructions will follow after all entries are in.
