2010 Henry County Fair Tomato Festival Scholarship Pageant
Rules & Regulations: 1. Must have been a resident of the Henry County city/village/township to be represented for at least 12 months preceding the local run-off pageant date. 2. Must be available to compete in the local run-off pageant if two or more contestants wish to participate from the same city/village/township. 3. Must be at least 17 years old and have parental consent. Must be no older than 23 years of age before September 1 of the year in which you intend to compete in the pageant. 4. Must be a high school graduate and can provide a diploma if requested or have successfully completed the GED testing program for high school equivalency and can provide proof if requested. 5. Must be of good moral character and have never been pregnant or married. 6. Must not have been convicted of any crime or have any criminal charges pending. 7. Must have never performed any act or engaged in any activity which is or could be characterized as dishonest, immoral, immodest, indecent or in bad taste. 8. Must only collect the dollar limit set by the Henry County Fairboard for sponsorship. 9. Queen and her court must preside over the fairgrounds each evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. during the fair week. 10. Personal interview, poise and presentation will be the basis for determining winners. Must appear in formal apparel and a one-piece swimsuit. Sarongs are permitted. No midriffs. 11. First, second, third and fourth place winners of previous Tomato Festival contests are ineligible to enter the pageant. 12. Winners of the pageant will receive educational scholarships consisting of: $1,000 (queen), $650 (first runner-up), $500 (second runner-up) and $475 (third runner-up). All contestants receive a $50 scholarship. 13. Scholarships must be redeemed for educational purposes within three years. Winners must submit proof that scholarships are used for educational purposes. 14. If contestants provide false statements, engage in any act or activity that deviates from the stated rules or fail to conduct themselves in a manner that, which in the opinion of the Henry County Fairboard, does not uphold and maintain the dignity and honor of the Tomato Festival Scholarship Pageant, then it is understood and agreed that the Henry County Fairboard may, at its exclusive option, terminate the contestant’s right to participate in the 2010 Tomato Festival Scholarship Pageant, as well as the contestant’s right to the title of 2010 Tomato Festival Queen and Court and all awards, prizes and prerequisites pertaining thereto. The successor will receive all of the benefits to which the contestant would otherwise have been entitled.
